To the Editor:
I couldn't agree more with Jennifer Glass ("It's About the Work, Not the Office," Op-Ed, March 8). It is distressing to see female corporate leaders like the top executives of Yahoo and Facebook ignore the real need for organizations to shift from a "fitting in" model of hierarchical upward movement to an "organizational fit" model.
Some jobs require being in an office; others do not. To ignore the value of saving overhead costs of offices, and the need to measure not where or how many hours employees put in, rather what is put in the hours, is to completely miss the added value of the effective use of advanced technology.
