Re "How Shocking: Met Unbuttons" (Weekend section, June 28):

So museum fans are devoted to the Metropolitan Museum of Art's buttons? Who knew? A more important question is why the Met is about to waste numerous revenue-producing opportunities.

One would be to sell the buttons, along with the new paper ones, for an extra dollar above the suggested donation. Another would be to spin the Postal Service's first-day-of-issue commemorative stamps model into "last day of issue" Met buttons. Sell premium-priced complete sets in the gift shop!

Tin-button collectors have money or at least small change to spare. Don't waste this chance!
